Is there any easy way to compare supermarket own brand products by the common name of the product (eg honey roast ham, pink lady apples, iceberg lettuce, grated cheese etc) without having to select each one separately?
This, let’s say I want to compare 5% or 20% mince beef. They are all different brands and home brands. So it’s pointless and easier to just jot them down with pen and paper then use trolley
Totally agree. Not just supermarket own brands, but all products generically. This whole set up is for brand based shopping, which is not the game we price sensitive consumers need to play, although it's what the market leaders want us to do.
It would be a start to select "supermarket own brands", but better to be able to select "All brands" or "any brand". There is no comparing Tesco baked beans' or Aldi baked Beans' prices across supermarkets, so we need to be able to put the generic name in our list.
You may need a 'cheapest' or 'best quality' grading, too.
Likewise sizes need to be generic - not 400g being a separate item to 405g. Perhaps a size range? Price would have to be compared for the typical product g based on price per 100g which may be difficult for people to handle.
@trolley Please reply on this. It's a most important and needed feature for the customers. There should be an feature for this comparison if you want to survive as a comparison app because this feature can bring more customers to this platform.
The Shopping List facility will only be of use to me when I can list generic items e.g. whole milk, cheddar cheese, oranges etc and see a total price for each supermarket rather than having to spell out everything by brand. When will this be available?
