Lowest price sort shows irrelevant, non-related results first?

when searching for butter (for example) and then selecting the lowest price sort, loads of products which are not butter, or even butter type spreads, are shown before actually getting to the butter. Surely the "algorithm " should show the product searched for (butter in this case) as a priority before suggesting anything else?
